ISDH 2022 delivers an event to remember
KOBLACH, Austria: Amann Girrbach has announced the 4.2 upgrade of its Ceramill Mind and Ceramill Match software, which will allow dental professionals and technicians to provide their customers with advanced titanium-based implant-supported restorations fabricated in-house and significantly reduce costs at the same time. The upgrade also features a new SPEEDLINING mode for quick and easy grinding and cutting of block materials. Furthermore, users can now plan dentures directly on the implant, without any abutment.
The new software features allow titanium materials to be machined with the Ceramill Matik milling unit. According to Amann Girrbach, up to 40% of external costs can be saved when switching to in-house fabrication of restorations. The initial cost of acquiring the milling unit can thus be recovered after only a small number of cases.
Owing to the newly developed SPEEDLINING mode, users of Ceramill Matik, Ceramill Motion 3 and Ceramill Motion 2 can “cut-grind” hard block materials at full speed. Dentists and dental technicians thus benefit from almost 50% faster production without compromising on restoration quality and reliability.
Another new feature is that several kinds of dental restorations can be planned for placement directly on the implant, regardless of whether single crowns, multi-part bars and bridges or full dental arches are involved. This innovative implant solution is the result of a collaboration between Amann Girrbach and TRI Dental Implants. TRI Dental Implants’ matrix, the first dental implant connection to have been specifically designed for digital manufacturing technologies such as CAD/CAM milling and 3D printing, received 510(k) clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration earlier this year. With the matrix concept, Amann Girrbach now offers its customers a fully comprehensive CAD/CAM-compatible implant system in a both digital and validated workflow. Implant-based Zolid zirconia crowns can thus be produced in less than 2 hours in combination with the Ceramill Therm DRS sintering furnace.
In addition to the fully digital and validated Amann Girrbach workflow for printing implant models and laboratory analogues, the upgrade offers numerous other CAD/CAM functions, including an artificial intelligence-assisted design of bridges using the Instant Anatomic Morphing (exocad) tool or the implementation of the Smile Creator Report in PDF format. This allows patients to see the expected result in advance in a before-and-after comparison and to participate in the planning process.
Moreover, the new nesting visualisation allows for quick quality checks of the milling process. Additional process reliability can thus be created with just a single click. However, as the digitisation of production increases, so does the output of milling units and 3D printers. To stay on top of things, the Ceramill System now enables milled and printed restorations to be marked with notes.
“With the upgrade of our Ceramill Mind and Ceramill Match software to version 4.2, we are yet again focusing on the core principles of in-house fabrication and by doing so, also on the vision of Amann Girrbach. We are delighted to have come a great deal closer to this vision now with the new features, improvements and functions,” explained Nikolaus Johannson, head of the global business unit for laboratories and CAD/CAM at Amann Girrbach.
The upgrade has been available worldwide since the end of July. Amann Girrbach is offering users free online training. More information can be found at www.amanngirrbach.com.
