RIO GRANDE, Ohio — An open horse show will be held this Saturday and Sunday at the Bob Evans Farm in Rio Grande.

Sponsored by the Southern Ohio and National Quarter Pony Associations, the show begins at 9 a.m. each day.

The 51st annual Vinton County Air Show will begin at 1 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Vinton County Airport.

Terry Stevens, president of the Pilots & Booster Club, said details are being finalized.

The show will feature full-size aerial acts, radio-controlled aircraft, drones, skydivers, rocket launch and a jet-powered, radio-controlled plane.

A barbecue chicken dinner is planned. The McArthur Eagles will sponsor the candy drop for the kids, and Santa Claus will skydive in.

The show is free; however the VPBA ask for a $10 parking donation to help fund the airport. Airport Road will close at 1 p.m. for the show. Access to the airport will be from W.Va. 328 to Airport Road east.

The Gallia County Board of Developmental Disabilities will hold a regular monthly board meeting for the month of September on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022 at 4:30 p.m. at the Administrative Offices, 77 Mill Creek Road, Gallipolis, OH 45631.

The Meigs Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors will hold their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022, at noon at the district office. The office is located at 113 E. Memorial Drive, Suite D, Pomeroy.

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — The West Virginia Farm Museum’s Country Fall Festival is scheduled Oct. 1-2 at the farm located in Point Pleasant.

Activities will include antique gas engine show; antique tracktor pull; CEOS quilt show; sorghum, apple butter and apple cider being made; church services at 10 a.m. on Sunday and stage music at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Country Kitchen and Store will be open. The farm is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 304-675-5737 for more information.

POMEROY, Ohio — A flu shot clinic will be held 9 a.m. to noon in the Pomeroy parking lot in conjunction with the Meigs County Farmers Market.

Those with insurance, Medicaid and Medicare should bring their insurance/ID card.

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — The annual Battle of Point Pleasant Festival will be held Oct. 7-9.

Living History Day will be held 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 7 for area fourth graders, while later-guided tours of Tu-Endie-Wei State Park will begin at 7:30 p.m. with presentations from historical figures.

The Battle Days Parade will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 8 on historic Main Street, ending at the park. Living history presentations will be held throughout the day while the Colonial Ball is set for 8 p.m.

On Sunday, a colonial church service is set for 10 a.m. at the park while a memorial service for the men who fell victim in the Battle of Point Pleasant in 1774 will be held at 1 p.m.
