For simple and quick hair sample preparation for drug trace analysis, around 300 to 500mg of hair can be ground to a fine powder less than 100μm in almost 5mins in the FRITSCH Mini-Mill PULVERISETTE 23 in a 15ml steel bowl with a 15mm steel ball.
The PULVERISETTE 23 enables suitable preparation of the sample for creating homogeneous potassium bromide (KBr) pellets for fiber analysis with infrared spectroscopy. The fiber sample is ground homogenously in 3 minutes. With the addition of 250mg of KBr, which was ground for 90s into a fine consistency in the PULVERISETTE 23, the ground sample is subjected to further grinding and homogenized in only 30s.
