The global authority in superyachting
The 43.6 metre Van Mill motor yacht Starship has been sold in-house by Robert Stotler at Worth Avenue Yachts.
Starship was built in aluminium by Dutch yard Van Mill to a design by Pieter Beeldsijder with naval architecture by Murray & Associates and delivered in 1988. She was stripped back to bare metal during a thorough $14 million refit in 2006 with all new systems and the entire interior replaced. She was further refitted in 2020, bringing her right up to date.
Her award-winning Claudette Bonville interior accommodates 10 guests in five cabins comprising a master suite, VIP suite, two doubles and a twin cabin, all with entertainment centres, flatscreen television sets and en suite bathroom facilities.
The saloon is entered by the main foyer, home to a grand spiral staircase, and is traditionally styled with impressive marble columns decorating the space and vast windows allowing sunlight to flood in. The lounge area is finished with leather soft furnishings, coffee tables and a cocktail bar.
Exterior spaces meanwhile offer an al fresco dining area on the upper aft and main aft decks, plus a flybridge complete with lounge seating, large sun pads and a hot tub. There is also a helipad on the bridge deck aft and storage for the jet skis.
Her top speed is 13.5 knots and she boasts a maximum cruising range of 2,780 nautical miles at 12 knots with power coming from two 2,250hp Caterpillar 3512-B diesel engines. For added comfort and safety, she is fitted with Quantum zero speed stabilisers.
